Privacy and Confidentiality

Ensuring that your personal and health information is kept securely and confidentially is of the utmost importance to us.

We have designed our office procedures and computer system to protect your data. We use firewalls, virtual private networks, encryption and strong passwords following good industry standards. We never send confidential data over the internet unencrypted.

Our website does not depend on the use of cookies and we do not use any software that can track you browsing activity.

Confidentiality

Information will only be shared with you and any medical staff referring you for assessment. Information will not be disclosed to others unless you give your permission.

The only exception to this arrangement will occur under local Child Protection/ Vulnerable Adults protection Policies and procedures.

Qualifications and experience:

Lucy McGill is a highly experienced Speech and Language Therapist who has worked in the NHS and private practice. Qualified for over 25 years, Lucy holds a post graduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy from the School for the Disorders of Human Communication in London.

Lucy has extensive experience in acquired communication difficulties in adults including stroke rehabilitation and other neurological conditions, including multiple sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and Parkinson's.

Another area of her special interests is voice therapy where she is able to use a wide variety of therapy techniques. For example, these include the "Yell Well" technique developed by Alison Bagn all that enables lively, active children with voice difficulties to use their voice loudly, but safely.

Additionally Lucy has specialist qualifications in counselling and swallowing difficulties.

Quality

Lucy continues to develop further her evidence-based therapy approach through regular Continuing Professional Development activities that includes training,regular evaluation of her work and the results she obtains Professional Development activities.
